The benefits of applying polyurethane foam is its spray applied and seamless. It is able to create an air tight seal whilst also producing a very effective thermal barrier. The reason required for the air tight seal is so that when the silo is fumigated the correct concentrations can be obtained and pests at all stages of their life cycle are killed. This is allows for operational costs to be reduced as less fumigation would be required than that of an unsealed silo.
Polyurethane foam is also an extremely efficient thermal barrier allowing a constant temperature to be maintained at lower costs and also eliminating the issue of condensation and moisture appearing within the silo.
